Players in the bottom half of the top 50 both were more likely to succeed (grade of "3" or higher) and posted a higher average performance on their free agent deals than players in the top 10, top 20 or top half of those same classes. The differences aren't significant, but it does seem telling that there's no drop-off from the top of the class to the next tier or two down after adjusting for how much each group is getting paid.
